Summary: | The paper proposes a reflection on the topic of distance learning carried out by the academic institution during the home confinement due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The attempt was to face serious and previously unknown difficulties, in order to keep the relationship with the students alive by captivating them far beyond online learning. The starting point is a collective documentary short film, born within the Sezione Spettacolo (University of Pavia): the students describe their different approach to the new everyday routine, reflecting on how the meaning of everyday places has been modified by the pandemic and experimenting the potential of digital technologies to shoot their lives in quarantine. The first part of the essay suggests a new approach to the idea of dwelling and contextualises it in the lockdown landscape. The second part mainly concerns the rhetoric of the film and focuses on the particularities of the process which led to its realisation.
