Description
Summary:Access to previous research facilitates scientific progress by preventing replication and allowing other researchers to build on reported developments. Quality articles need to provide the information required to facilitate reproduction of the experiments by others. This is a challenge for research in a single discipline like analytical chemistry that rapidly grows when reporting cross disciplinary research outcomes, as a minimum level of information needs to be provided for each of the disciplines covered. Where custom processes or devices are used, higher level of experimental detail is required to ensure repeatability, and data may be required to validate the approach. For analytical articles in microfluidics and flow analysis, aspects that need to be covered include the device design and manufacture, instrumentation, the assay and the data processing and analysis.
