description People, especially those living in rural environments and those who have recently been dissatisfied with traditional medicine, use medicinal plants for their therapeutic effects. In this study, ethanol, ethyl acetate and methanol extracts of Tribulus terrestris L. plant, which is used by local people as one of these medicinal plants in Kars province (Turkey), were obtained by ultrasound assisted extraction method. The cytotoxic effects of the obtained extracts on MCF-7 breast cancer cells in the concentration range of 10-1000 ppm at 24 h of exposure were investigated by the MTT method, which is a colorimetric method. T. terrestris L. ethanol extracts at 1000 ppm caused a moderate cytotoxic effect on MCF-7 breast cancer cells. It was determined that ethanolic extracts in the concentration range of 10-500 ppm and methanol and ethyl acetate extracts in the concentration of 10-1000 ppm caused cell proliferation.
