description
The present article aims to discuss Brazil’s current educational scenery, regarding, specially, the research and its succeeding publications about Chemistry teaching and what could be considered innovative in light of recent legislation. To do that, five publications in the area were reviewed in order to classify their articles according to themes that could be considered innovative, knowingly: African and Native History and Culture, Human Rights Education and Green Chemistry. The analyses presented in this article argues that there is still a long way to run for chemistry teaching to be more in sync with social and culture themes and that for this to ever happen, we must pay closer attention to the early stages and to the continuity of teacher training.
