Summary:This article aims to present a critical perspective about terrorism as a new issue of International Relations agenda. The relation between this academic discipline and Centre States power politics – like United States do America – shows off that terrorism is a contemporary version of Cooperation/Conflict traditional discipline debate, taking as theoric basis the Samuel Huntington’s civilizational assumptions. Slavoj Zizek’s ideas offer a critic point of view of Clash of Civilizations thesis presenting the power relations in the theories and ideas production as an important element of International Relations historic context.
