people with diabetes in India is 65.1 million and is
projected to increase to 109 million by 2035. The
high burden of diabetes is been reflected in increased
morbidity by virtue of its specific complications,
high cost of treatment and reduced life expectancy.
Around 1.1 million deaths are attributed to diabetes
