A number of example of cross-cultural research was given-achievement motivation, Pinget’s cognitive development, socialization and use of test such as Eysenck Personality Questionnaire, the Rothwell-Miller Interest Blank, the repertory grid and its variations. Practical example of the emic-etic distinction in the form of the “open house†and other traditions are given to show the process of finding equivalence in the Malaysian context.
