description This work presents a real mechatronic system consisting of coupled inertia oscillators affected by relatively high-frequency structural vibrations. The system’s basic mathematical description is also provided. To simulate real structural vibrations, a vibration exciter in the form of an imbalanced rotor is incorporated into the model. The dynamic behavior of the contacting solid bodies is significantly influenced by the rotating imbalanced mass, which is in frictional contact with the body. The vertical acceleration component resulting from the rotational motion of the imbalance leads to a faster breakage of the sliding contact between the block and the belt, causing a shorter duration of the contact pair in the stick phase. Additionally, the softly coupled pendulum solid body can be utilized to effectively detect weak vibration modes of the self-excited friction oscillator that would otherwise be challenging to observe.
