description In this article we will present the Raspberry Pi board as a low cost solution to a portable laboratory with multiple applications that can be used in basic education and in higher education. We will use the board with a LDR (Light Dependent Resistor) for measuring the period of a pendulum and obtain the gravitational acceleration. Although simple, the experiment has excellent agreement with the value found in the literature, differing by only 0.07%.
