Description
Summary:The expulsion of Palestinians in the war of 1948 represents the origin of Palestinian displacement, which at that time involved around 750,000 men, women and children. This short article contributes to this section focusing on pivotal years by providing an introduction to the foundational events and processes of the “long Palestinian 1948”, which started in November 1947 with the United Nations’ partition of Palestine and ended with the armistice agreements between Israel, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan, and Syria in 1949, albeit without providing a definite solution to the Israeli-Palestinian war.
