Summary: | The information of Mammadaga Shiraliyev's "Basics of Azerbaijani Dialectology" has
been presented in the research. Accents and dialects of the Turkmen language are examined on
sections such as "Phonetics", "Morphology", "Syntax" and "Lexika". Descriptive, comparative
and historical-comparative methods have been widely used in this book for the first time. The
materials of the Azerbaijanian accents and dialects were interpreted in connection with ancient
Turkish monuments, modern Turkic languages and their dialects. The dialectical materials were
derived from three sources: 1) The materials collected by the author personally were collected
by Shusha and its villages (1938), surrounding villages of Baku and Baku (1939-1940),
Nakhchivan city and Nehram village of Babek region (1941), Gazakh (1942), Ganja (1943)
materials. 2) The works of separate authors are some of these works, some of which are
protected as candidate dissertations and are kept in the library of the Azerbaijan State University
in the form of manuscripts. The scientific researches of N.Sh.Ashmarin, M.Islamov, R.
Rustamov, I.Hajiyev, B.Ibrahimov, K.Ramazanov, T.Hamzayev were involved. 3) Third source
During 1945-1958, the expedition of the Literature and Language Institute named after Nizami
of ASSR was organized by the Azerbaijan State University named after SM Kirov in Zagatala,
Gakh, Sabirabad, Alibayramli, Nakhchivan, Ordubad, Alibayramli, Agstafa, Tovuz, Gazakh,
Borchali, dialectological expedition from Shamakhi, Maraza and Ismayilli regions. In addition
to other Turkic languages, it was asked to compare the Cyrus, Bashkir, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Oirot
languages.
