description The problems of justification and selection of the required single-phase short-circuit current values in cable and overhead networks of 20 kV with low-resistance neutral earthing are considered. It is shown that the desired values of the short-circuit current can be determined on the basis of harmonization of conflicting influencing factors: reliability of the relay protection and automation devices and required resistances of the earthing devices of electrical installations, including personnel safety.
