description This work recomposes the question of the common in contemporary political theory from the thought of Jacques Rancière. We observe that the common does not contain a principle or content of its own, nor is it constituted as an inherent feature of man in community, in fact, it does not pre-exist. In these terms, thinking about the common is to reflect on the triad of politics, demos and equality and, from there, to question the political community, giving rise to processes of political subjectification that reconfigure the police order under the budget of a forgotten equality.
