Al Jazeera English relies on the audience to broaden its news coverage, its programme schedule, and even its reach. This study delves into the technological, professional and editorial aspects of participation on the channel: submission platforms are described; fifty Twitter profiles of journalists are analyzed, as well as the form and function of 600 tweets, and inputs broadcast on The Stream and Listening Post are classified according to their format and origin.
