description The presented contribution focuses its attention on the research on the influence of the angular setting in a hobbing mill on the adjustment of the tooth profile created by this technology. The aspect of influence from the angular settings in the hobbing mill on the final shape of the gears is investigated. In this research, the effect of substituting the curvilinear profile of the cutting edges with a straight profile is analyzed, observing how this approach affects the final geometry of the gears. An important point of this research is also the comparison of different profiling methods using the hobbing mill, specifically when using a normal cut, which is perpendicular to the helix of the milling cutter, and also when cutting along the axial plane of the hobbing mill.
