Nowadays, civil protection interven- tions are increasingly characterized by advanced technological equipment that, by reducing response time in the disaster area, guarantees greater effectiveness and safety. Emergency psychologists are certainly required to arrive quickly on site but they must also be given adequate time to ensure listening and support to the peo- ple who survived disasters at the time of reception, participation in the rites of pain and hope, relationship and trust for those in need of treatment. These are treasures that the past has preserved intact. |
