Summary:This paper seeks to analyze the difficulties and mishaps faced by the LGBTQI+ population in their search for job opportunities, through a literature review. The adopted theoretical foundation aimed to use authors who work with the gender issue, such as Michel Foucault, Judith Butler, Paul B. Preciado, and Berenice Bento. The study has a narrative, comprehensive nature. To this end, the locus of the investigation included a search in the following virtual libraries: Google Acadêmico, Scielo, PePSIC, and BVS Brasil. The partial results point to two different realities faced in the Brazilian context. Therefore, it is necessary to think beyond these realities, understanding factors that influence this phenomenon.
