Summary: | Praziquantel (PZQ) is a compound that usually used as insecticide, drug residue could be harm to human health. In this study, we have developed a simple, sensitive, and rapid lateral flow immunochromatographic assay (LFIA) for the detection of PZQ in fish (Lateolabrax Japonicus). We produced a sensitive mAb using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay with half-maximal inhibitory concentration (2A11, IC50) of 2.06 ng/mL. The coating antigen (PZQ-HS-GA-OVA) and goat anti-mouse IgG antibody were sprayed onto a nitrocellulose membrane as the test and control lines, respectively. Under optimal conditions, the cut-off limits for PZQ detection on the test strips were determined to be 5 ng/mL in both 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline and fish samples, and results were obtained within 5 min. Our data suggests that this LFIA can be used for the sensitive, rapid, and specific on-site screening for PZQ in fish. |
