The professional group of nurses is at the heart of these evolutions, although the effects of transformations in the field of psychotherapy, including regulations concerning the title of psychotherapist, have been less analyzed than for other professions. This article reviews the specific context in which nurses developed this expertise, then analyzes the professional and ideological issues that accompany the change of therapeutic paradigm in favor of behavioral and cognitive approaches, and the refocusing of nursing practices towards “psychosocial rehabilitation” activities. |
