| Summary: | Classrooms are spaces where people spend the special part of their lives. Due to the fact that the visual perception is more effective than other perceptions for learning, visual comfort in classrooms has a prime importance in terms of performing learning activity without any difficulty, fatigue and loss of efficiency. In spaces, interior surface features affect the visual comfort as well as lighting quantity and quality. In this study, some main information about factors of visual comfort in classrooms was given, the luminance values of inner surfaces of a classroom were exemplified via lighting design programme. Additionally, surveys were implemented regarding surface features of work tables to students in a classroom of YTU Department of Architecture.
