Summary:The article analyses the main cause of emigration of rural youth – insufficient employment rate. The official statistical data and the results of the survey elaborated by the author highlight the problems faced by young people and that lead to less occupation. In order to reduce emigration and increase the employment rate of young rural workers, several solutions are proposed: attractting investments in rural localities, supporting young farmers; encouraging and supporting young people who want to start a business in the countryside, etc.
