Description
Summary:In the eighteenth century, the exclusion or inclusion of foreigners in local sociability networks, and therefore their acceptance as political and economic actors, depended on the surveillance and control that the neighbours made of them. It was a spontaneous phenomenon in which the local council did not interfere. Based on colonial documentation such as the minutes and agreements of the Buenos Aires municipal council, we seek to reconstruct the sociological and socioeconomic profile of local neighbourhood networks in what concerns the role of foreigners in their morphology.
