Ameloblastoma is the most common pathology that could be associated with COC. This association might be in two forms; Ameloblastomatous variant of COC and “ameloblstoma ex COC”. Ameloblastoma ex COC is very rare. In this report, we present an 11-year-old girl of ameloblastoma ex COC presenting as a well-defined unilocular radiolucent lesion with remarkable bucco-lingual expansion in the anterior mandible. In histologic examination, basal layer of the epithelial cells showed an ameloblastic pattern. Some layers resembling stellate reticulum were present and in some parts, the globules similar to ghost cells were evident in the cyst lining. Surgical enucleation of the lesion was done. No recurrence was recorded after a 6-month follow-up. |
