description Adult-onset Still’s disease (AOSD) is a rare systemic inflammatory disorder of unknown etiology, characterized by the triad of fever, skin rash, and arthritis, however fever may be the only sign at the onset of disease, so it can present with a fever of unknown origin (FUO). There are no specific diagnostic laboratory tests for AOSD. The diagnosis is based upon suggested criteria after exclusion of other causes of prolonged fever (such as infectious diseases, neoplasms or collagen vascular diseases, etc.). A greatly elevated serum ferritin level proved to be an additional valuable diagnostic clue. In this paper, we present seven cases followed in our clinic between 2001 and 2005 with AOSD who were investigated as FUO. Fever, artralgia, and rash were found as the most common findings in our patients.
