Description
Summary:This article analyses how, in TV series In Treatment (HBO, 2008-2010), war is represented without the traditional images of war and only through the words of a patient (pilot Alex Prince) to his therapist. If war somehow reappears – albeit in a decentred way – in Alex’s angry confrontations with his psychoanalyst, in his lack of cooperation and in his desire to stand as a powerful alpha-male patient who denies any trauma or guilt, war eventually remains impossible to represent until the very notions of seriality and continuity are questioned.
