| Summary: | The author reviews the state and main problems of research if the Old Testament quotations in the structure of Justin Martyr’s «Dialogue with Trypho the Jew». Although the composition of the Dialogue seems clear, scholars are still unable to fi nd adequate answer to the question about the vast using of numerous prophecies of the Old Testament, which are refl ected in the characteristic features of the structure of the Dialogue. The methodological novelty of present approach consists in comparing Scriptural quotations in St. Justin’s works not only with prophecies in his predecessor’s and contemporary’s writings, but with lectionary of preserved sermons of St. Augustine and St. Ambrose of Milan. This comparison allows making a supposition, that it was liturgical life of the Church which could be the natural background of such a collection of prophecies. |
