description Learning is not limited to school time. It starts at birth and continues throughout the entire life. Equally important as formal education there are also non-formal and informal education. Any kind of learning outside the traditional school can be called informal. However, it is not easy to define non-formal education because it is being described differently, for example as an education movement, process, system… Projects and programs implemented under the name of non-formal education are of very different volume and they are designed for different groups of the population, from children to adults. The problem that Serbia has is the lack of a legal framework for the non-formal education and therefore it is necessary to adopt laws that would regulate this area and raise education to a higher level, and in the same time contribute to the economic development and unemployment decrease. One of the examples of the non-formal education's introduction into our educational system is the accreditation of a series of educative seminars for professional development of school teachers, educators and associates by the Ministry of education. These seminars have been created on the non-formal sector's fruitful ground. The role of a psychologist in non-formal education as both program's implementers and users is very important but not recognized enough. Also, there is no precise data on how much psychologists are really represented in non-formal education. We can say that non-formal education is slowly but surely entering through a narrow door into our education system.
