description Ormosia hosiei is a critically Endangered and important economic plant which is endemic in southern, eastern and central China. The complete chloroplast (cp) genome sequence of O. hosiei was determined by Next-generation sequencing technology. Total length of the cp genome is 172,210 bp, which contained a large single-copy (LSC) and a small single copy (SSC), separated by the inverted repeats (IR) of 40,377 bp. The cpDNA is structured with 144 genes, comprising 98 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA genes, and 8 rRNA genes. Phylogenetic analysis suggested that Ormosia is closely related to the genus Styphnolobium within the Fabaceae.
