description The article deals with the economic geography of Roman Hispania during the period between the date of the creation of the first two Spanish provinces and the end of the Antonine era. After a brief assessment of the advances of research in the latter decades, we move on to a diachronic analysis of the transformations brought about by Rome in the economic landscape of the Iberian peninsula, thanks to the coming of Italian capital, the development of markets, the exploitation of mines, etc. Lastly we retain four big ensembles as representative of the Hispano-Roman provinces, laying the emphasis on their diversity and dynamism.
