description The text intends to question the validity of individualistic approach within the framework of the international economic crisis. The author claims that the chaos in the world economy is the result of the distortion of the principles of functioning self-regulating market process and its inner coherence. It reappraises the validity of the claims for state intervention and points to possible consequences of overregulated government measures. In order to defend individualism against harsh critics, the author exposes its main postulates; the faith in the spontaneous creation and operations of institutions; methodological individualism; use of subjective knowledge in the entrepreneurships; formal and substantive equality; liberalism and paternalism. .
