Summary: | Revivalist dance and music practices taking place in France since the 1970’s appear as an intermediary object : between folklore and academism, rural vitality and urban dynamism, local and associative networks and internationalized ones, a quest for continuity and desire of transgression. These mostly amateur practices therefore appear as privileged tools to observe contemporary territorial reconfigurations and rural inventions as representations, discourses and projections. These fluid and transposable practices remain associated with stability images which tightly connect them to the variety of spaces on which they wish to act and participate to their valorization. |
