description | This article deals with the importance of the division into chapters in the first albums of Schuiten and Peeters' series “Les Cités obscures” pre-published in the monthly (A suivre). From “Les Murailles de Samaris” to “L'Enfant penchée”, these narratives were largely designed with this constraint in mind. And this paratexte was amplified during the album editions. The impact of the magazine's disappearance on the construction of two later stories, “L’ombre d’un homme” and “La Frontière invisible” is also discussed : although they appeared directly in book form, the division into chapters continues to play a role. |
