Description
Summary:This chapter, in the history of neuroscience, illustrates an example of a scientific paradigm, in which a researcher establishes a position –the neuronal Theory–, contrary to the established truths –the reticular Theory–. In this particular case, there is a close relationship between science and technology: technical advances, more powerful microscopes, micro tomes, staining methods, and innovative methodological approaches, have uncovered new findings, and the need to assess contradictory positions forced to develop and perfect the technology, in this case, two new methods of tissue staining.
