| description | Se realizó un trabajo descriptivo sobre el comportamiento del cólera en la comuna de Plaisance, del Departamento Norte de Haití, desde el 22 de noviembre de 2010 hasta el 28 de de febrero de 2011, con los objetivos de determinar el comportamiento de algunas variables relacionadas con el cólera, caracterizar demográficamente la muestra estudiada y determinar la tendencia de la epidemia de cólera en dicha comuna. El universo quedó constituido por los 1 312 casos nuevos de cólera vistos en el período de estudio. El 42 % de los casos nuevos de cólera fueron ingresados para tratamiento por vía parenteral; no hubo diferencias significativas con relación al sexo; el grupo etáreo más afectado fue el de >15 años, con un 63,57 %; no hubo fallecidos en 551 pacientes ingresados; y la tendencia fue decreciente a partir de la primera semana de creado el Centro de Tratamiento del Cólera, donde se desarrolló un intenso trabajo educativo y profiláctico.<br>We carried out a descriptive work on the behavior of the cholera in the commune of Plaisance of the North Department of Haiti, from November 22nd 2010 to February 28th 2011, with the objective of determining the behavior of some variables related with the cholera, demographically characterizing the studied sample and determining the cholera tendency in that commune. The universe was formed by the 1 312 new cases of cholera found in the studied period. 42 % of the new cholera cases entered the center for the parenteral way treatment, there were not significant differences in relation with the genre; the most affected age group was the > 15 years one with 63,57 %; there were not deceases among the 551 entered patients, and the tendency decreased beginning from the first week of the creation of the Cholera Treatment Center, where we developed an intense educative and prophylactic work. |
