Summary: | This research focuses on alternative platforms for accessing cultural content, based on cooperation between players, that have developed especially since 2010 at the margins of the dominant platforms. The product of a commitment shared by creators, producers, distributers and deciders, these initiatives propose other platforms models, likely to better meet the interests of stakeholders. Based on a qualitative survey of 21 of these platforms in four cultural sectors (online bookstore, ticketing for live entertainment, recorded music, video on demand) we seek to understand the conditions of their development. Our results allow us to identify a set of common features and several operating models of these platforms.
