description Tracés’ visual identity lacks unity due to the inner constraints of its different medium formats (paper print, website, blog): colours, graphic composition, typographic fonts differ from one medium to another. Every student of the diplôme des métiers d’art “Typographisme” from the Paris Estienne School of Graphic and Industrial Arts made a visual identity proposal, which may be adapted to all editorial media in a unified manner. In order to do so, some of them chose to create of typefont for the journal or to make use in their designs of open access typesets and of “contributive graphic tools”, accessible without the mediation of a graphic designer.
