Description
Summary:The National Center for Children’s Literature (CNLJ) keeps an important collection of the Japanese publisher Fukuinkan shoten, which celebrates in 2022 its 70 years anniversary. This collection was initially acquired from la Joie par les livres and the publisher himself regularly sends some of its collections to the National Library of France. Often compared to L’école des loisirs in France, Fukuinkan shoten is a major publisher in Japan that contributed greatly to the development of children’s literature in the archipelago but also to the recognition of Japanese children’s literature in the world. This article aims to present the publisher and some collections available at the National Library of France and to define some directions for further research.
