description 132 students of 4 semester preclinical were offered all learning media needed for the preclinical exam for the tablet computer. 72 used their own tablet, the other 60 were given a library iPad on loan. Key findings were: Students prefer electronic learning media over printed ones if they are offered on a mobile device. Nearly three-quarters (72%) liked to be able to learn always and everywhere with the tablet. 58% felt it a distinct advantage that you could learn “unplanned” , e.g. at waiting and transfer times. 62% noted the advantage of saved time due to the search functionality of e-books. 70% stated that they were easier and better prepared for the exam due to the resources of “easyphysikum”. The students suggested that the library should continue to provide content, apps and iPads, at the best already to the 1 or 2 preclinical semesters. 88% of “easyphysikum” participants were very satisfied or satisfied with the project. In particular, the support by the library was noted positively. 94% of all borrowers would recommend their fellow students to participate in “easyphysikum”.
