description | Background. The UK pension legislation goes through several stages in its
development. Each of them is formed on the basis of political and legal doctrines. The need to study pension legislation is caused by rapidly developing social relations
and socio-political phenomena. All these factors influence changes in the social
conditions of the population, which in turn leads to the need to make specific
changes to the legislation. The purpose of the work is to study the political and legal
doctrines of the New time and their influence on the formation and further development
of pension legislation.
Materials and methods. The implementation of research tasks was achieved
based on the analysis of the legal teachings of Jeremiah Bentham, John Stuart Mill,
Robert Owen, in order to identify social problems of the British population and proposals
for their solution. As research methods, we used the method of historical and
legal analysis, comparative legal methods that allowed us to compare the provisions
of legal doctrines, their significance for the development of the theory of British
pension provision, taking into account specific historical circumstances.
Results. The features of the social situation of the population in The modern era
are highlighted, as well as the directions of social policy of the state are determined.
The political and legal doctrines that form the basis of the UK pension legislation
are revealed.
Conclusions. The development of pension legislation in the UK was based on
political and legal doctrines based on the idea of creating the best society, an ideal
cost-effective social system that ensures the happiness of all people. The ideas that
emerged about improving the situation of the population were due to the need to
solve the problem of poverty of the working population. |
