Summary:In 1987 Carlo Formenti wrote an essay dedicated to Prometheus and Hermes. In that book Formenti has been analysing the character of Prometheus the Titan as the symbol of the working class and its intellectuals. In that phase, few years before the fall of the Berlin Wall, the crisis of the traditional revolutionary myths led the author to recognise a new symbol in Hermes, sensitive to a post-ideological attitude and ready to interpret the new egalitarian myths born with the internet. Today Formenti comes back to the issue and describes a further drastic disenchant.
