Description
Summary:At present, aortic valve prosthetic surgery remains the only effective therapeutic method in severe aortic stenosis (AS) with aggravated clinical course. Pharmaceutical therapy is used in case of absolute contraindications for the surgery (severe comorbidity), or patient’s refusal (financial reasons, superstitions, psychological traits, etc.). Pharmaceutical therapy potential is rather modest at the moment, in regard to heart failure functional class or lethality. The authors describe the principal drug groups used in AS patients.
