description Investigations of electromagnetic parameters of various aluminium plane contacts under short circuit conditions have been carried out. It has been revealed that while calculating electromagnetic parameters of the above-mentioned contacts under transient regime we may take into account only parameters of the forced electromagnetic field. It has been shown that the areas of current flowing from one contact conductor into another do not depend on the character and magnitude of currents relevant to transient regime. These areas are practically unchangeable during the whole transient process.
