Description
Summary:Based on a review of the literature, this paper presents a theoretical analysis of the notion of domination in Domingos Pascoal Cegalla’s normative discourse. This analysis is made by examining excerpts of the foreword in the Novíssima Gramática da Língua Portuguesa, in which the authorial ethos is at times concealed between the lines of the preamble, or highlighted in the conservative approach of concepts already deconstructed by Sociolinguistics. Therefore, we aim at demonstrating that such work, despite the fact of speaking up in repudiation of the uncompromising dogmatism, propagates the resistance to the linguistic dynamism.
