description The frames carry out functions that extrapolate its functionality and aesthetic composition, since they are fundamental for the fulfillment of several requirements, among them the acoustic performance. If poorly designed and installed, they represent the main point of failure in the sound insulation of a façade, especially when composing blinds. Thus, this article aims to present the influence on acoustic performance, described in NBR 15575 (ABNT, 2013) of a miter, after the insertion of two different insulation materials in its shade box: PET wool and high density foam, in the situations of blinds extended and collected. The sample tested consists of a window with aluminum profiles, aluminum shutters and 4 + 4 mm laminated glass. The tests were carried out in the laboratory, following ISO 10140-2 (2010). The results showed that there was no improvement in the acoustic performance of the miter by means of the insertion of the materials in the blind box and, on the other hand, small failures in the installation generated a significant loss in performance.
