Summary:The present article has as aim check the concept of open regionalism used by the exterior Chilean politics, since his characteristics coincide fully neither with the Asian model nor with that of the CEPAL. Neither has we it can define as the third type of regionalism, since our country has signed agreements of free trade with his principal commercial partners, without it predominated over the geographical nearness or that it affects his autonomy to coordinate others. In addition, Chile established that his exterior politics was an instrument for the development understood as the growth reached thanks to the insertion with the included economy, for which his international projection made coincide with own expositions of the neoliberalism.
