Its argument is founded in the production of knowledge rooted directly in the local ecologies, starting with the cultural landscapes of the indigenous villages that were reconstituted in the missions. It addresses the challenge of interpreting archival documents in direct relationship to the landscapes themselves and their transformations over time. |
