earth provides life, protecting it from the cosmic
radiation. at the same time, atmosphere provides basic
conditions for life: oxygen, carbon-dioxide,
radiation… part of the atmosphere closest to the
ground is called air.
Air is polluted if contains substances that are
not part of its normal composition. Polluted air is also
defined as air that has substances harmful for people’s
health or environment in inhabited areas. At the same
time, various gasses, solid particles and liquid drops
can be found in the atmosphere coming from the
emission from the natural or artificial sources.
Presence of pollutants in the air has various direct and
indirect effects on the health of the living beings in
the biosphere and also on the material goods.
Measuring of lever and type of the air
pollution, determining concentration of relevant
pollutants is very important for the defining level of
the pollution. Monitoring pollutant concentration in
the Vranje city for determining its quality has been
done by measuring immission concentration of
relevant pollutants: SO2, soot and NOx in the time
period January – December 2013. Control of the air
quality in the Vranje city area has been conducted in
the two places, Public Health Organization in Vranje
and at Primary School “Svetozar Marković”.
Monitoring results shows higher air pollution
on the territory of Vranje during winter period, which
can be explained by fact that traffic and furnaces are
main aeropolluters in the city. |
