description The main objective of the work is to carry out an environmental situational diagnosis of the Hato Lechero project of the Francisco de Paula Santander Ocaña University, based on the use of some methodologies for data collection, in order to analyze the information collected, and to be able to formulate some actions for the implementation of cleaner production. Basically an interview was used as the first instrument, supplemented with a checklist, to proceed to carry out a matrix for the identification and assessment of environmental impacts, and subsequently the project process flow. This allowed us to carry out a SWOT analysis, and propose possible solutions to the problems found. As a result, it was determined that the project has several shortcomings in terms of environmental management within its activities, and mainly highlights the lack of registration and control of its raw materials and waste, so that proper management is not carried out of them, which has repercussions on the degradation of the soil due to solid and liquid waste and the degradation of air quality due to the emission of greenhouse gases. It is concluded that the project has several shortcomings, but it also has some important strengths that it must take advantage of to enter cleaner production, improving its environmental management.
