description The article deals with the theoretical foundations for the training and professional development of foreign language teachers through recurrent forms of advanced training and retraining, in particular through the use of the pedagogical technology «logical-semantic model». The author pays special attention to improving the grammatical competence of the students of the retraining course and considers the problem of mastering the grammar of the English verb on the basis of the author’s logicalsemantic model, represented by several blocks. The procedure for creating the model «Grammar of the English verb», its structure, including axes and nodes, as well as the pedagogical technology for its implementation in the framework of retraining courses for English teachers, are described in detail.
