Summary: | This article focuses on the architecture of intersection that exists between emerging infectious diseases, conflict and global governance. Using COVID-19 as both the backdrop for a failed global response as well as a predictive exercise for future behaviours and attitudes. It follows a course not previously explored where contagion and conflict shape a future of calamity and insecurity. It explores how international relations uses domestic and geopolitical turbulences to infect and damage a coordinated response to the pandemic. This leads to mistrust and apathy towards any response of mitigation. |
